About Philippine Ube — Filipino-Owned Ube Supplier
A company built by Filipinos, for Filipino farmers, in the heart of ube country.
Our Story

Philippine Ube started with a family farm in Lobo, Batangas.
Our grandmother on our father's side was a Driz. Her family farmed ube there for generations, back when it was just food and nobody overseas had heard of it. We carry the Nieves name, but the land and the growing knowledge came down through the Drizes, which is why our farm is named for them.
We spent years watching the world's appetite for ube grow while the farmers growing it stayed exactly where they were. The chain from a field in Lobo to a bakery in Brooklyn runs through brokers, consolidators and traders, and by the time the money finds its way back, there is almost none of it left.
So we built the company we would have wanted our own family to sell to. We farm at Driz Farm, and through our network of farmer partners we have visited, assessed and paid directly. Sometimes a consolidator or cooperative is the only way to reach a farm cluster, and we use them. What we won't do is buy from a chain we can't trace back to a name.
Philippine Ube is our family's commitment to making sure this crop's value stays where it belongs, with the Filipino farmers and communities who have grown it for generations.
Our Farming Regions
We operate our own farms and grow through verified farmer partners across the Philippines. Each region produces ube with its own character, shaped by local terroir, climate, and generations of farming knowledge. Our home region remains Batangas, where the Driz family — our father's mother side — has cultivated land for generations.
Batangas
The heart of our operation. Batangas sits on the volcanic flank of Taal Volcano, where the soil is rich in potassium, phosphorus, and trace minerals that give ube its deep color.
The province's well-drained loam, warm tropical climate, and consistent rainfall create ideal conditions for tuber development. Add generations of farming know-how passed down through the Nieves family and neighboring Batangueño farmers, and you have a region built for growing exceptional ube.

Bohol
Highland volcanic earth loaded with potassium, phosphorus, and trace minerals. The result is ube with extraordinary depth of color and intense flavor.
Quezon
Rolling foothills and volcanic uplands in the Sierra Madre rain shadow. Warm days, cool nights, and well-drained slopes help ube develop firm texture and balanced sweetness.
Leyte & Aurora
Fertile valleys and tropical plains where dense, aromatic tubers thrive. A dependable extension of our partner network, shaped by rich soil and consistent rainfall.
South Philippines
Davao, Bukidnon, and South Cotabato. Year-round tropical warmth, rich alluvial plains, and established farming communities give us a strong southern anchor for volume and consistency.
Every farm we operate or partner with is fully traceable. We know the soil, the farmer, and the story behind every kilo of ube we sell.
The Nieves Family
A Family-Run Operation
From Driz Farm, Malapad na Parang, Lobo, Batangas
Philippine Ube is proudly family-run by the Nieves family. Our farming roots trace back through the Driz family, our grandmother's family on our father's side, who cultivated land in Lobo, Batangas long before ube became a global ingredient. We named the farm Driz Farm to honor that family line. That heritage gives us a personal stake in every harvest.
Being family-run means every decision is made with long-term relationships in mind, not quarterly targets. We operate our own farms, including Driz Farm, and work side by side with verified farmer partners, sharing knowledge, investing in sustainable practices, and ensuring that the supply chain remains transparent from soil to shipment.
For the Nieves family, this is not just a business. It is a mission to prove that Filipino-owned, Filipino-grown ube can compete on the world stage, on Filipino terms.
