Standard Market / Local Trader

  • Price set by the trader — not by you
  • No guaranteed buyer every harvest
  • Payment may take weeks or months
  • No contract, no volume commitment
  • Multiple middlemen taking margin before you get paid
  • No recognition for your farm's quality or origin

Philippine Ube — Certified Partner

  • Premium farmgate pricing — above standard market rates
  • Long-term buyer partnership — recurring purchase schedule
  • Faster payment than traditional traders
  • Annual supply agreement with written volume commitment
  • Direct buyer relationship — no layers between you and us
  • Certificate of Authenticity recognized by our global buyers

Acceptance Criteria

Philippine Ube sources only from farms that meet all of the following criteria. Every application is individually reviewed, and all farms are inspected before approval.

  • Known Ube Variety

You must know and declare what type of ube you grow — Kinampay, Baligonggong, Iniling, or any hybrid variety. Both heirloom and hybrid varieties are accepted, as long as the exact variety is known and documented.

  • No Artificial Inputs on Harvest

Tubers must be free of artificial colorants, dyes, or post-harvest chemical treatments. Pure ube only, nothing added.

  • Verified Provincial Origin

Farm location must be verifiable. Region, municipality, and barangay are required and confirmed during on-site inspection.

  • Open to Smallholders

Individual smallholder farms are welcome to apply directly, with or without a cooperative. Any harvest volume is considered, from a few hundred kilos up to full container loads.

  • Member Farm Disclosure (Coop / Consolidator)

For cooperatives or consolidators, each member farm must be declared with variety and location. No anonymous sources — everything is traceable.

  • Traceability & Record-Keeping

Suppliers must keep basic records of planting dates, variety per plot, and harvest volumes for full chain-of-custody traceability.

  • On-Site Inspection

All applicants undergo a physical farm visit and ube sample evaluation before a certificate is issued.

  • Annual Re-Certification

The certificate is valid for 12 months and requires re-inspection before renewal, ensuring ongoing quality and purity.

Magkano ang presyo ng ube? Mas mahal ba kaysa sa trader?+

Oo.

How do I become a ube supplier?+

Fill out the application form on this page. Our sourcing team reviews each application within 2 to 3 weeks, conducts an on-site farm inspection, and issues an official Certificate of Authenticity to farms that meet our acceptance criteria.

Can a cooperative apply?+

Yes. We welcome ube farming cooperatives, and we also accept individual smallholder farms directly, no coop membership required. Cooperatives get group certification where all member farms are covered under one certificate, with shared logistics and collective pricing.

What is the Consolidator program?+

For entrepreneurs who want to aggregate harvest from many small farms in their region. Approved consolidators become recognized partners of Philippine Ube, with volume incentives and territory recognition.

How much do you pay per kilo of ube?+

We offer direct farmgate pricing with no middlemen, plus premiums above standard market rates for quality and consistency. Long-term certified suppliers also receive volume incentives and loyalty bonuses. Exact pricing depends on variety, quality grade, and season. Current farmgate price ranges and premium tiers are discussed at the farm visit and fixed in the annual supply agreement.

Are hybrid ube varieties accepted?+

Yes, both heirloom (Kinampay, Baligonggong, Iniling) and hybrid varieties are accepted, as long as the farmer knows and declares the exact variety name. Variety disclosure is required for traceability and quality consistency.

Where can I sell ube directly?+

Philippine Ube buys ube from farms nationwide. We work with farmers from all regions, we just need to know where your farm is located so we can coordinate harvest schedules and logistics. Apply as a certified ube supplier to get a direct, recurring buyer relationship instead of selling through market traders with many layers.
