Ube Supplier Europe: Direct from Filipino Farmers

Skip the European middlemen. Source premium ube powder and ube spread direct from a Filipino-owned company working with farming families across the Philippines. EU and UK compliant documentation included.

Traditional Organic Practices Ships to EU & UK Filipino-Owned

Why Source Ube Direct from the Philippines, Not from a European Wholesaler?

If you've searched for an ube supplier in Europe, you've probably found European companies that buy ube from the Philippines, mark it up, and resell it to you. They position themselves as "ube specialists" or "premium wholesalers," but they're middlemen. The ube still comes from Filipino farms. The difference is that when you buy through them, an extra layer of margin gets extracted before the product reaches you, and the Filipino farmers who grew it see less of the value.

Philippine Ube is different. We are a Filipino-owned company. We work directly with farming families across the Philippines. When you source from us, you're cutting out the European intermediary and dealing with the people who actually know the farms, the farmers, and the product. You get better pricing, full traceability, and the knowledge that your ube supply chain keeps value in the Philippines where it belongs.

If you want to partner with a real Filipino farm, not a European company that happens to sell a Filipino product, we're the ones to talk to.

Traditional Organic Practices, Not Yet Certified

We are not currently certified organic under EU Regulation (EU) 2018/848. Many of our partner farms already farm organically — no synthetic pesticides, no chemical fertilizers, traditional methods passed down through generations — but formal certification requires third-party auditing of every step from farm to export, and we have not yet completed that process. Formal certification is on our roadmap as we scale.

When a Filipino family has been growing ube without chemicals for decades, they should eventually be able to prove it and earn the premium that organic certification commands. That's why certification is where we're heading. But until it is official, we won't claim it.

If organic certification is a hard requirement for your business today, contact us so we can be transparent about our current status and future timeline.

European Import Requirements for Ube

EU General Food Law (Regulation 178/2002)

All food imported into the EU must comply with the General Food Law, which requires traceability, food safety, and proper labelling. Importers must be able to identify the supplier and the products they have received. We provide full supply chain documentation for traceability compliance.

Official Controls (Regulation 2017/625)

Food imports are subject to official controls at EU Border Control Posts. Certain products require a Common Health Entry Document (CHED). Ube powder as a dried food product typically enters under simplified procedures. We provide all documentation needed for smooth border clearance.

UK Requirements (Post-Brexit)

The UK has its own food import framework managed by the Food Standards Agency (FSA). Requirements are similar to the EU but with separate documentation. We handle export paperwork for both EU and UK shipments and can advise on the differences.

What We Handle (Export Side)

Philippine Ube provides all export-side documentation: phytosanitary certificates, certificates of origin, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of analysis (including heavy metals, pesticide residues, microbiological testing), and allergen statements. Complete documentation for EU and UK customs clearance.

Partner with a Real Filipino Farm

You don't need a European middleman to source ube from the Philippines. You need a direct relationship with the people who actually work with the farms. That's us. Filipino-owned, Filipino-operated, sourcing from Filipino farming families.

Whether you're a specialty cafe in Amsterdam, a bakery in London, or a food manufacturer in Berlin, we'll get real Philippine ube to your facility with full documentation and traceability.

The European Ube Market

Ube is rapidly gaining ground across Europe. The UK and Netherlands have led early adoption, driven by specialty coffee shops and Filipino community demand. Germany, France, and Scandinavia are following as ube lattes, ube ice cream, and ube-flavored products appear on menus and store shelves across the continent.

The European market has a particularly strong demand for organic and ethically sourced ingredients. Many of our partner farms already farm organically in practice — no synthetic pesticides, no chemical fertilizers, traditional methods passed down through generations — though we do not yet hold formal EU organic certification. We plan to pursue certification as we scale so our farmers' chemical-free growing methods can earn the formal recognition they deserve.

Frequently Asked Questions: Importing Ube to Europe & UK

Do you ship ube directly to EU and UK buyers?

Yes. Philippine Ube ships ube powder and paste from Manila to major European ports including Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Felixstowe, Le Havre, Southampton, and London Gateway. We work with EU and UK restaurants, cafes, bakeries, ice cream manufacturers, and private-label brands. For the full import process (border controls, novel food classification, RASFF, documentation), see our import guide at /how-to-import-ube.

Is your ube organic certified for Europe?

We are not currently certified EU organic. Many of our partner farms already use organic practices — no synthetic pesticides, no chemical fertilizers — but formal EU organic certification under Regulation (EU) 2018/848 requires third-party auditing we have not yet completed. Formal certification is on our roadmap as we scale. If organic-certified ube is a hard requirement for your business, contact us to discuss.

What do we handle vs. what you handle on the EU side?

We handle all export-side documentation from the Philippines: phytosanitary certificate, certificate of origin, commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of analysis with heavy metal / pesticide / microbiological testing, and allergen statement. You (or your customs broker) handle EU-side Border Control Post entry, RASFF monitoring, novel food verification for your specific product form, and national-level compliance. Our import guide walks through each step for new EU buyers.

Do you ship ube to the United Kingdom?

Yes. We ship to the UK as well as EU member states. Post-Brexit, the UK has its own import requirements managed by the Food Standards Agency (FSA). Ube powder can be imported as a processed food product. We handle export documentation for both EU and UK shipments. Major UK ports served include Felixstowe, Southampton, and London Gateway.

What European countries do you supply ube to?

We supply ube to businesses across Europe including the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Austria, and Switzerland. We have experience shipping to all major European ports and can provide documentation specific to each country's requirements.

Why should I source ube from a Filipino company instead of a European wholesaler?

Several European wholesalers sell Philippine ube, but they are middlemen. They buy from the Philippines, mark it up, and resell to you. When you source from Philippine Ube, you deal directly with the people who work with the farmers. You get better pricing, full traceability to the actual farm, and confidence that your supply chain benefits Filipino farming families rather than foreign intermediaries.

How long does shipping to Europe take?

Sea freight from Manila to major European ports (Rotterdam, Hamburg, Felixstowe) takes 4–6 weeks. Air freight takes 3–5 days. We offer FOB Manila and CIF European port pricing. Most European buyers order ube powder by sea freight for cost efficiency, since the 12–24 month shelf life makes this practical.

Can I get a sample before placing a full order?

Yes. We offer sample kits for qualified European buyers. Contact us with your business details and the products you're interested in, and we'll arrange samples shipped to your European location. Sample kits typically arrive within 7–10 days via air freight.
